Whispering Wood Designs

Custom Designs

Console Tables

For this piece, Birdseye elm was chosen.  The client provided the table legs and requested that they be adjustable as well as removable so that the table top could also be a large charcuterie board for entertaining. This piece was finished with epoxy, polyurethane and bees wax.

End Tables

For this set of four rounded end tables, various heights were desired and the legs were chosen by the customer.

Side Tables

For this side table, the base chosen hinted of the possibility of an epoxy waterfall being inserted which worked out perfectly. The finish was a combination of epoxy for the base with polyurethane and Odies Oil for the maple top.

Coffee Tables

The top of the second coffee table shown is Myrtle wood and the base is a pre-ordered monkey pod set on runners to provide the correct height. Coffee tables can be mixed and matched with unique wood tops and bases.

Wall Hangings

Wall hangings range from nostalgic pieces such as this wall hanging, which was crafted from a felled tree on a family farm is Wisconsin, to a Birdseye elm reversible office hanging, to counter sunk pictures into ship worm wood.

Repurposing

The original, simple bookcase was purchased in the 1940’s and remained in the family as such until the death of its owner.  Wanting to pass down a family heirloom, the bookcase was carefully dismantled and repurposed into seven trains which now serve as holders for cookbooks and craft endeavors. Thus, keeping alive the matriarchs love of trains and cooking.

Memorial Remembrances

Often having a picture of a loved one, human or pet displayed for meditation or inspiration is important. At a memorial service  these candle holders were  crafted all from the same branch of walnut and given as memorial gifts to children and grandchildren to light again in their own homes for special occasions of remembrance.

Custom Art Frames

At times we are invited to embellish the work of other local artists as is shown in these ship worm wood, counter sunk frames.
